10 Movie Moments Which Aren’t What They Seem

1. Back To The Future - Marty McFly Is One Hell Of A Finger-Syncer

When Marty McFly takes to the stage in 1985's Back to the Future and completely lets rip on a bright red guitar, not only does he manage to make sure he actually gets born in the future but he also provides us with one of the most iconic musical sequences in movie history.

However, despite Michael J. Fox genuinely being an extremely talented guitar player in his own right, you'll be shocked to know that the sounds coming out of McFly's guitar weren't actually made by Fox on set. Instead, the actor was taught how to perfectly finger-sync the chord sequence for 'Johnny B. Goode' and 'Earth Angel' by guitarist Paul Hanson. This would then be matched up with the music being played by Tim May in the film's eventual soundtrack.

Mark Campbell was also on hand to lend his voice for McFly's vocals throughout 'Johnny B. Goode'.

He may not have been responsible for the sounds we hear in the finished article, but Fox's dedication to making sure he looked the part throughout the performance made us believe that McFly was the one blasting out the absolute classic in this legendary scene.
