A lot was made of Jared Leto's fierce commitment to the role of The Joker in David Ayer's ill-fated Suicide Squad feature in 2016. On top of the star's performance largely being left on the cutting room floor, Leto was said to have taken things a little too far when it came to sending his co-stars gifts whilst still immersed in the character of The Clown Prince of Crime.

One particularly disturbing story doing the rounds revolved around Leto sending Margot Robbie a dead rat mid-shoot. As Leto would later clarify, he didn't actually send the Harley Quinn actor a deceased rodent, stating in February, "It's also interesting how this stuff all takes on a life of its own. But I never gave Margot Robbie a dead rat, that's just not true." The Oscar winner would go on to reveal that he actually gifted her a great deal of vegan cinnamon buns whilst working with Robbie.

There is still a sliver of truth to this whole ordeal, however, with Robbie confessing back in 2016 that the rat was very much sent to her, though it was in fact alive at the point of delivery.
