10 Movie Names With Absolutely Arbitrary Subtitles

4. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

Friday The 13th The Final Chapter Not a lot of interpretation is needed here. Back in 1984, this installment in the iconic slasher-horror series was indeed supposed to be making its final chapter. But apparently you can't trust Paramount Pictures. They made fools of all as they not only released one more Friday the 13th film after the movie with the subtitle 'final' in its name, but created eight more films in the series. So much for the last tone. One could say Paramount assumed it was going to be the final flick, I guess, and for all intents and purposes, that's true. But given that the fifth Friday film was released the very next year tells us that they had further plans at the ready in case the "final" film was a success. But hey, who can complain: Nightmare on Elm Street pulled the same gimmick. Ultimately, though 'The Final Chapter' as a subtitle is vastly arbitrary and bordering on the insane. To be honest, movies should just avoid using titles like this as it's both pointless and risky.
