10 Movie Names With Absolutely Arbitrary Subtitles

3. The Twilight Saga

Twilight Saga New Moon Xlg Twilight stands out in bit of a different manner. The Twilight saga made the actual title of the books the films were based on the subtitles of the movies they were made in to. And all this was done to make room for the title of the first film - Twilight. After the first Twilight film, the title of every other film in the franchise was prefaced with 'The Twilight Saga:' and followed by the real title the film should have been using. I always wondered why they did this. Why is it necessary to remind your audience that New Moon, Breaking Dawn, and Eclipse are actually part of the same series? Do you believe that your audience would forget about it? If you are spending money to go see Twilight or any of its follow-ups, you know that it is part of the same saga, surely? This decision never made much sense to me. as a normal human being educated on what film he drives to the cinema and gives up his hard earned money to watch. The same is being done for The Hunger Games series, another Young Adult novel series, and I wonder if this trend has reason or is just coincidence. Do they hope to make a series sound more like a collection as if it were Harry Potter or something? Whatever the reason, it is pretty pointless.
