10 Movie Plot Holes That Will Destroy Your Childhood
2. Toy Story 2 - "How Could You Forget Us, Woody?"
Toy Story tells the story of a somewhat arrogant cowboy doll named Woody who must compete for his owner's affections against a new space-age toy called Buzz Lightyear. Woody, you see, loves his owner, Andy, more than anything in the entire world, and spends much of three movies worrying about being "replaced" or discarded as Andy grows up.
This plot point finally culminates in the third movie, when Woody is passed onto a new owner, a cute kid named Bonnie. But Woody's mentality doesn't really make much sense, thanks to a plot point inherent to the storyline of Toy Story 2, which reveals that Woody is a precious and incredibly rare collector's item from 1958. This means that Woody has to be at least forty years old at this point in the timeline, which means that Andy could not have been his owner for more than a quarter of his lifespan.
Why's he so afraid all the time, then, when logic dictates that Woody has to have made the owner-to-owner transition as least three of four times so far?
