10 Movie Plot Holes That Will Destroy Your Childhood
6. The Santa Clause - We Didn't Buy These Presents, So Who Did?
The Santa Clause was made at a point in history where people didn't mind paying money to see things with Tim Allen in them. The plot concerns a dad who accidentally winds up murdering Santa Claus, and must take over his job, because, uh, it's a Disney movie. This comes as a relative shock to Tim Allen's character, who - being an adult - doesn't believe in things like Santa Claus. And, to be fair, what reason would he have to do believe in a fictional character like Santa anyway, right?
Well, how about the fact that, year after year, Santa Claus delivers presents to the houses of every single kid in the entire world? Not metaphorically, but actually, because this movie is set in a universe where that happens: Santa Claus actually exists. So why on Earth wouldn't all the parents of the world be shocked when they came downstairs on Christmas morning to find presents under the tree?
It's not really something you can ignore, is it? So, yeah, you're just supposed to accept this one, because... uh... a wizard did it (that's the best I've got, sorry).
