7. Verbal Is Keyser Soze - The Usual Suspects

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_6560AW1zQ Ok, obviously not everyone guessed this twist, because Bryan Singer's The Usual Suspects is supposed to be one of those all-time brilliant twists that people can never guess. I'm not one for boosting my ego over this sort of thing, but I can't lie - I did manage to guess it. Part of the reason, though, is because of how the film was marketed; I didn't see it on release (I was far too young), but caught it on DVD in the early 2000s, and the fact that the DVD and its extra features kept asking the question "Who Is Keyser Soze?", I knew that it would be the twist later on in the film. How did I guess it was Kevin Spacey's Verbal Kint? I went by the classic logic that it's always who you never expect, and given that Verbal was relaying the vast majority of the film's information, I figured it was his to twist and manipulate however he liked. I've spoken to many since its release who also managed to guess it, so it seems like some deductive reasoning and awareness of movie marketing can take you a long way. Make me feel less special and say that you say it coming too, go on.
