10 Movie Posters That Subtly Lied To You

5. This Isn't Julia Roberts' Body - Pretty Woman

It's not much of a secret that Julia Roberts employed the use of a body double, Shelley Michelle, for several scenes in Pretty Woman, in order to make her hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold protagonist Vivian Ward seem a little more curvaceous.

But the doubling actually extended out of the movie itself to its iconic poster, which features "Roberts" and co-star Richard Gere posed back-to-back.

Yet in actuality, this body also belongs to Michelle, with Roberts' head simply being superimposed over the top.

The poster implied a more shapely Vivian than was actually the case, though given that the film is far more about its characters than sex, it's hard to feel especially short-changed by the sneaky cut-and-paste job.

Between the film's stonking $463.4 million box office and a Best Actress Oscar nomination for Roberts, audiences clearly didn't mind either.
