10 Movie Punishments Worse Than Death

7. Turned Into A Living Wax Statue - House Of Wax

Combining both Paris Hilton and a gnarly horror movie remake was an inspired touch, making something so intrinsically tied to the early 2000s that it couldn't be more of a time capsule if you covered it in rhinestones and gave it a flame print shirt. House of Wax as a film then is your average teen slasher flick, in which a group of friends stumble across a man intent on turning people into wax figures for display in his growing museum - the last relic of a near-abandoned town in the middle of nowhere.

There's lots of snipping, gluing, and gory moments in the movie - but none feel quite as terrifying as Wade's almost-death as the first to be truly transformed into a figure. Injected with wax and covered in the stuff to make him a rigid, immovable object, he's still awake when he's sat down at a piano and left as a mannequin, accidentally getting his face peeled off by a friend attempting to free him from the terrible gooey fate.

The whole thing not only looks incredibly painful, but is absolutely terrifying - Wade is to melt down in a fire whilst fully feeling everything happening to and around him. Bleak stuff.
