Paranormal investigator Mike can't help but try and debunk this legend however, and sets himself up inside room 1408 for a wild night of visions and trauma before being offered up the 'express checkout system', where he can choose a noose or to relive the worst hour of his life endlessly until that seems more appealing. Amongst Mike's worst fears are visions of his dead daughter, his dead dad, and previous inhabitants of the room that succumbed to killing themselves lest they had to live any longer with the past quite literally haunting them. It's all very bleak stuff, with this time loop better off broken in the end - even if the cost was a high price to pay.
