The Actual Line: "Not many people know that."

Not a lot of people know this.

Thanks to Peter Sellers, the distorted line above has become the standard punchline to any (usually mediocre) Michael Caine impression. Caine himself expressed fury at the misrepresentation, venting, "I do not mind something clever attributed to me, but I do mind something stupid that I did not say."

Easy on, Michael - it's only a few words out. You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off, not your own fuse.
