10 Movie References You Didn't Get As A Kid (But Do As An Adult)

2. Linguini's Tiny, Little... - Ratatouille

Ratatouille Tiny Little
Pixar

Once again, we're revisiting Pixar, as the studio seems to be just a fountain of jokes you'll get when you're older. Mia and Tia flashed Lightning McQueen, Hector sang a dirty song about a woman named Juanita, and who knows what Collette (Janeane Garofalo) thought about Linguini (Lou Romano) in Ratatouille.

The entire premise of Pixar's eighth release is utterly ridiculous in itself, as Remy the Rat (Patton Oswalt), an exquisite chef, sits on Linguini's head under his hat and directs him while he's cooking. The rat takes a terrible cook and makes him something worth shouting about.

When the time comes to explain everything to Collette, a woman who Linguini has fallen for, naturally he struggles to find the right words to do it. He hesitates every time he goes to say rat, which initially makes her think he's saying he has a rash, which would have been bad enough even if not followed by what came next.

The would-be chef begins to explain that he has a tiny, little rat on his head, but between the words little and rat, accompanied by the universal hand gesture for being less than well endowed, Collette shoots a very quick and concerned look down south. You might not have caught or understood this if you were a kid back in 2007, but now there's no missing it.
