10 Movie Reveals You Can Spot Early (If You Really Look)

Pay close attention - and then some.

A jaw-dropping climactic reveal can help elevate a movie from good to great, leaving audiences shocked at just how effectively it pulled the wool over their eyes, teeing up a plot twist that they never saw coming.

And the most satisfying twists are generally those which the movie actually gives viewers a solid chance of guessing - as long as they've been paying attention, that is.

Indeed, these 10 films all boasted big reveals which eagle-eyed audiences could've seen coming if they looked really, really hard.

Of course your chances of noticing them, let alone putting two and two together on a first viewing, are pretty damn close to nil, but they certainly make for a satisfying realisation upon repeat sits.

In the event you did manage to figure any of these sly hints out on your first watch, give yourself a huge pat on the back.

All in all, they represent some of the most cleverly sly pre-reveals that cinema has ever seen, even if they flew clean over the heads of most everyone who watched...

10. Verbal Kint Is Keyser Soze - The Usual Suspects

Saving Private Ryan Matt Damon
Gramercy Pictures

The Reveal

The mythical, shadowy gangster known as Keyser Soze is revealed to have been Verbal Kint (Kevin Spacey) all along, who has been improvising a story to U.S. Customs agent Dave Kujan (Chazz Palminteri) for the entirety of the movie.

How To Spot It Early

To be fair, "early" in this case is only around 30 seconds before the pin drops for Kujan and the audience in earnest, but nevertheless, if you keep your eyes peeled during the revelatory montage, you can see Keaton (Gabriel Byrne) being fatally gunned down by Kint.

The shot is low-lit and extremely fleeting, but Spacey's face is clearly in the frame for a few fractions of a second, and if you were sharp enough to notice it or quick enough to mash the pause button at the right moment, you'd know before everyone else that Kint is Soze.
