10 Movie Reviews Better Than The Movie Itself
9. Son Of The Mask - Fanboy Flicks
There's little to reminisce and enjoy with the unofficial-feeling sequel to the original Jim Carrey starring Mask movie. Replacing peak 90s Carrey with any-era Jamie Kennedy was always going to be a recipe for disaster, but to complement this downgrade with a worse-than-nothing script and visuals so abysmal you'll forget that it had a budget more than four times higher than the first film.
The massive disappointment that is The Son Of The Mask and the way its awfulness led to the series becoming nonexistent is reflected in Fanboy Flicks video on the film. Mark, the host of the channel, accurately portrays pretty much anyone after watching this movie: emotionally drained, stuck in a pool of cynicism and annoyance.
Unlike many others on this list, it's very minimalist but effective. No skits or comedic bits are added, just a chronological rundown of the plot, split up into sections where Mark offers up another awful component of the movie and then proves his point with an unedited clip. It's simple, but for those who have seen the movie (and who haven't), they'll have no doubts about his conclusion.
