10 Movie Roles That Made Great Actors Look Like They'd Gone Insane

2. Marlon Brando - The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996)

Marlon Brando One day actor Marlon Brando woke up and decide that the epitaph he should leave atop his otherwise epic legacy would be balls to the walls, batsh*it crazy, and if it turned out that it wasn't quite as batsh*t crazy as he first envisioned when he arrived on set, he'd do everything in his power to ensure that it lived up to the nutty opium dreams that were pin-balling around inside his skull at the time: welcome to The Island of Dr. Moreau, where the actor from A Streetcar Named Desire spends the whole movie wearing an assortment of lovely hand scarves on his head. Here's a movie production so insane that it's a surprise it even got finished - the original director, who had been working on the project for four years, was fired in the first week for failing to get Val Kilmer (who was doing everything in his power to sabotage the project) in line, nobody knew their lines, and the replacement director threatened to burn the set down. Then there was Brando, right in the middle, who - as the titular character - insisted he dress and talk like the Queen of England. B*tshit crazy was an understatement: words cannot adequately describe this thing.
