7. Predators

The Scene

After dealing with both the Predators hunting them and Topher Grace's psychotic murderer Edwin, the only survivors of the rag-tag group of human prey watch another group of "game" parachuting onto the planet and realise more Predators are likely to join them. Royce (Adrien Brody) rallies Isabelle (Alice Braga) and says they must find another way off the planet.

What It Teased

Another movie in the same vein - think The Hunger Games meets Predator, basically - set on the hunting ground planet as Royce and Isabelle try to fight their way home (alongside more new prey).

But...

Despite both Nimrod Antil and Robert Rodriguez talking up the possibilities for a sequel - and Adrien Brody professing his interest in returning as Royce - the box office return wasn't quite as convincing to Fox and eventually the reins were handed over to Shane Black to reimagine the series once more on Earth. So we'll never know what happened to the survivors.
