10 Movie Sequel Villains Far Scarier Than The Original

5. The Xenomorph Queen - Aliens

Aliens Queen

The Xenomorph may be one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history, and certainly the image of it bursting from John Hurt's chest is one that has and will continue to stand the test of time.

The alien tore through the crew of the Nostromo within less than 24 hours, was impossible to kill, and was able to adapt to just about anything that was thrown at it. The only reason it lost its battle with Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) was that she was able to destroy the entire ship around it.

However, almost automatically, the Xenomorph villain of Alien was outdone by the villain of Aliens, which as the title suggests, was multiple Xenomorphs. Not just that, but an army of aliens that, under the command of its queen, was able to strategise, and hold its grudges after seeing Ripley kill so many of them.

Yes, these were killed more easily throughout the sequel, however there was a full military unit designed specifically for this type of threat on Ripley's side this time, and even then only her and Newt (Carrie Henn) were left at the end. Had she had the exoskeleton upon the Nostromo she may not have needed to destroy the entire ship to defeat the original Xenomorph, but you can bet that without it against the Queen, her chances of survival would have been damn near absolute zero.
