From the minds behind South Park, Team America: World Police was one of the most beloved (and controversial) comedies of the 2000s, using its Thunder Birds-style puppets to indulge in a suitably abrasive satire of early-naughties America.

Especially in the current political climate, a sequel seems like a no-brainer, but the directors of the original have reiterated that despite how much they enjoyed the end product, they'd never return to make a sequel.

Apparently, the process of using puppets was a miserable experience for two filmmakers who were used to a medium where changes to a TV episode could be made literally the night before it aired. They've described making Team America as a miserable experience, and have constantly crushed fans' dreams of a follow up pretty much since the opening night of the first movie.
