10 Movie Sequels Fans Still Demand

9. Tron: Legacy 2

It was neither a commercial or critical hit, but 2010's Tron: Legacy holds up surprisingly well today, and has actually gained a large cult following since its initial release. In itself a long-awaited sequel to the 1982 Tron, Legacy made huge strides in blockbuster filmmaking at the dawn of the decade, being one of the first movies to show that "de-ageing" an actor can actually work, and having a ridiculously brilliant soundtrack curated by Daft Punk.

A sequel has been talked about on and off for a few years now, but it doesn't seem that Disney are really committed to bringing the franchise back. Despite cancelling it in 2015, however, Jared Leto has said the studio is still tinkering away at a third movie, but whether or not that materialises is entirely up in the air.

In a lot of ways, Tron: Legacy was before its time in the same way the original was, and the series deserves a third release to finally break the mainstream.
