10 Movie Sequels Fans Still Demand

6. Master And Commander 2

Master And Commander
Miramax

Essentially Star Trek on the high seas, Master and Commander's lavish design and lead performance by an in-his-prime Russel Crowe made it instantly compelling, with the flick going on to acquire 10 Academy Award nominations. Unfortunately, it didn't have the same success with regular audiences, and failed to make the Gladiator-level amount of money that the studio its eye on.

Still, there was a strong fanbase following its release, and thanks to just how good the movie was (and how much rich source material there was left to draw from), demand for a sequel has never really gone away. Hell, it was just last year that Russell Crowe took to Twitter to tease the possibility of a follow up, fourteen years after the original release.

With so many older properties being revived, it's a tragedy that Master and Commander has been tragically overlooked every single time.
