10 Movie Sequels That Basically Wrote Themselves (But Never Happened)
4. Mathilda: The Ex-Professional
Leon was the film that introduced Natalie Portman to the world as the young, wanna-be hit-woman, Mathilda. While the film ended fairly conclusively, with Mathilda escaping the carnage that kills Leon to go attend boarding school, it still left a lot of room to speculate what happened to her character.
Coming up with a plot to such a sequel is all too easy. Over the course of the original film, the young girl is taught many skills by Leon. It would be great to return to this character and see her fully free of her previous life - perhaps even working as a teacher at her boarding school.
When she soon discovers an outbreak of drugs amongst students in her neighbourhood, she just can't resist reverting back to her old habits. This catalyst could also be used to team her up with a young sidekick, mimicking her relationship with Leon.
The fact a sequel to this film seems so incredibly easy to write just makes it all the more frustrating that one never happened.
