10 Movie Sequels That Basically Wrote Themselves (But Never Happened)

With tons of explosions, Arnie side-wielding huge machine guns, and cheesy one liners, this film has everything your heart could desire from an Arnold Schwarzenegger action flick.

It follows John Matrix as he attempts to rescue his kidnapped daughter from mercenaries, and ends with him declaring his retirement. With such a concrete ending, you might be left wondering: what could they possibly do for a sequel? That is until you realise that his daughter is played by a young Alyssa Milano, who you may remember from the hit TV series Charmed.

A sequel that would see the roles of hostage and rescuer reversed could have been the perfect modern day follow-up to this macho action movie. The plot would basically be the same as the original, but with the initial reveal being that John's daughter, Jenny, grew up to be a Special Forces operative. Taking this approach, and getting Milano the action vehicle she deserves, is such an obvious way to keep things fresh, it's almost criminal that it’s never been tried before.

Here’s hoping someone in Hollywood wakes up to the solid gold nugget they're sitting on before both actors age out of their respective roles.
