10 Movie Sequels That Were 30 Years In The Making

9. A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia (1992)

A Dangerous Man Lawrence Of Arabia
BBC

Time Between: 29 years, 150 days

While the original Lawrence of Arabia was praised for its scope and the scale of its incredibly cinematography - and was thus a purely cinematic film - its belated follow-up was a small screen affair. Far more invested in exploring the impact of revisionist historians and dealing with more difficult themes, the sequel starred Ralph Fiennes and Alexander Siddig.

Was It Worth The Wait?

It's not up to the standard of Lawrence Of Arabia, but that would have been a difficult task for any film to meet. But viewed on its own terms and with the caveat of it being a TV production, it's not terrible at all. It does advance Lawrence's story and it is brave enough to delve into some waters that the original failed to, but it's just a shame it wasn't given the same prestigious focus as its predecessor.
