10 Movie Sequels That Were 30 Years In The Making
7. The Wicker Tree (2011)
Time Between: 37 years, 222 days
Now, admittedly, The Wicker Tree's status as a sequel is somewhat up for debate, but there's no denying the fact that it exists in the same sort of philosophical universe as the original and it consciously sought to explore the same areas. And had it been far more successful then it ended up being, there's no doubt it would have been branded a continuation.
It's a sequel in the same sense that The Cloverfield Paradox is a sequel to 10 Cloverfield Lane.
Was It Worth The Wait?
No, sadly. The belated addition to the franchise is actually markedly worse than the Nic Cage starring remake, which is impressive going, frankly.
