10 Movie Sequels That Will NEVER Be Made

3. FANT4STIC 2

Kill Bill
20th Century Studios

The 2005 Fantastic Four film, featuring names like Jessica Alba and a non-buff Chris Evans, was a great little flick, especially for a pre-Iron Man superhero movie.

Alas, as they were owned by 20th Century Fox, Marvel's first family missed out on the initial MCU action, so had to contend with a reboot in 2015. Alas (again), this ended up being a total mess.

Director Josh Trank clashed with the studio throughout the process and, owing to death threats he was receiving over the casting of a Black actor as The Human Torch, he slept with a gun on his bedside table.

Doesn't exactly scream "stable work environment", does it?

FANT4STIC, as it has become known, bombed at the box office and pretty much killed the Four's movie careers dead. Even with Marvel Studios now in control of the characters, they'll likely want to start from scratch rather than try and build on these soggy foundations.

If you need any more proof, Michael B. Jordan, who played Johnny Storm, has appeared in the MCU as Killmonger, plus we've already seen John Krasinski appear as a version of Reed Richards.

But honestly, the quality of the first film should be proof enough.
