10 Movie Sequels We Secretly Want To See

2. Inception 2

The idea of Christopher Nolan ever making a sequel might seem a little strange, but it's not like he hasn't already done it twice and it's not like he won't eventually make the long-mooted James Bond movie he's no doubt being eyed for. And there were once some very broad plans for Inception to be more than one movie.

Or at least, the studio made sure to sign the cast onto sequels. Even Nolan himself has vaguely spoken about it, saying in 2011 that “It’s not something I want to say no to, but it’s not something I’ve given a lot of thought about.” But it's been a long time now and it looks increasingly unlikely, particularly as part of Inception's appeal is the open-endedness of its ending.

But just imagine another heist movie in this sci-fi world - even without Cobb, in order to navigate the sensitive mystery of his ending - and it's hard not to get excited. The first film was based on such a delightful premise, with such vast scope for imaginative sequences, that killing the universe off after one look is almost criminal.
