2015's Goosebumps adaptation wasn't mind-blowing, but it was solid, offering up plenty of diverse creature action and another fun performance by the ever-likeable Jack Black.

It also made a decent $150 million worldwide, making the sequel announcement slightly surprising - that's not a number that screams 'everybody loved the movie and people want to see more'.

Tentatively titled Goosebumps: Horrorland, story details are not yet known, but that subtitle does provide clues as to what we can expect.

HorrorLand is the title of author R.L. Stine's Goosebumps novella spin-off series; HorrorLand is a vast theme park (Stine describes it as "the scariest place on Earth"), and each story in the series finds different children being lured to the park for a sinister reason.

The final book in the series reveals who is behind the plot to assemble these children, and, of course, it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

So, will the Goosebumps sequel feature this theme park? Will it be a direct adaptation of the HorrorLand series? Possibly. Though R.L. Stine himself mentioned that the title isn't set in stone...

...the fact that this specific title is even associated with the film in the first place is a strong indication of the direction the story will head.
