10 Movie Sequels You Have No Idea Were Just Released

5. The Reef: Stalked

Shudder

2010's The Reef certainly didn't set the box office alight, but the low-budget shark thriller received broadly positive reviews upon release and apparently performed well enough on home video to justify a second go-around.

12 years later, original writer-director Andrew Traucki returned to helm The Reef: Stalked, a spiritual sequel which focuses on an entirely new cast of characters being terrorised by a great white shark.

Shark movies have been consistent money-spinners for Hollywood, and in the very least Traucki is producing not-bad stabs at the subgenre with limited resources.

Stalked ended up scoring only slightly less-enthusiastic reviews than its predecessor, no matter that most people who watched the 2010 probably still have no idea that a sequel was ever produced.

Don't be shocked if a third film pops up totally out of nowhere sometime in the next few years, especially with tight, low-budget thrillers like this tending to perform well on streaming in the current climate.
