Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters - a big-screen spin-off from the hit Adult Swim animated series Aqua Teen Hunger Force - was released all the way back in 2007. Do you feel old yet?

It's not unfair to say that the film is best remembered for its iconic, insane introductory PSA about cinema etiquette, but it did nevertheless gross $5.5 million against a mere $750,000 budget. Not a bad return-on-investment at all.

Though franchise creators Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro had been attempting to get a sequel made ever since the original turned a tidy profit, they faced continual production-stalling hurdles - namely Adult Swim's apparent refusal to stump up the necessary funds.

Well it finally happened, and mere weeks ago Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm was released direct to home video, foregoing a theatrical release entirely.

Given that many who were Aqua Teen Hunger Force fans back in 2007 have since grown up and moved on, they can't really be blamed for spacing on the existence of a sequel that's taken so damn long to get made.

While most critics didn't even bother reviewing it, Plantasm has nevertheless scored well with fans - those who actually knew it was coming out, anyway.
