10 Movie Sequels You Probably Never Knew Existed

2. Marley & Me: The Puppy Years

Yes, really. After the 2008 comedy drama with Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston touched audiences by showing the bond between a couple and their dog, then broke hearts by killing the dog off at the end, someone decided, "we need a prequel!"

So, 2011 saw the release of Marley and Me: The Puppy Years, a cut-price comedy showing the 'world's worst dog' getting up to all sorts of mischief with a family he lived with before Wilson and Aniston (who obviously don't appear).

It's debatable whether the events necessarily make sense in relation to the original, and we might also question why this film chose to play events from Marley's point of view with a voiceover telling us his thoughts, which didn't happen before.

But we probably shouldn't think too hard about it, as the makers of the film clearly didn't.

Ben Bussey hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
