10 Movie Sequels You Won't Believe Are Happening
1. Django Vs Zorro
Quentin Tarantino has talked about sequels and spin-offs quite a bit over the years, with a Vega Brothers movie the most cherished abandoned idea among his fans. The closest he's ever really got to a sequel was with The Hateful Eight, which was initially conceived as both a novel and also as a sequel to Django Unchained before he decided it should be its own movie.
But that didn't kill the chance of a Django follow-up. Tarantino has talked about re-editing the film into a mini-series with additional discarded material, as well as continuing Django's story with other sequel novels. More intriguingly, in 2015, two years after a comic book adaptation of Django was released a Django/Zorro crossover was released and now that's going to be a movie.
Tarantino himself won't make it, though he is co-writing it with Jerrod Carmichael, but it's going to be a hell of a thing even without him directing. The chance to see more Django is great, even if Jamie Foxx isn't yet attached to return, but seeing more Zorro is an additional joy.
In the comics, Django continues his work as a bounty hunter and meets an aged Zorro who hires him as his bodyguard as the pair work together to free enslaved local folk. Sounds like a great premise to the follow-up.
