10 Movie Sequels You Won't Believe Are Happening
5. The Boy 2
It always seems a lot easier to make horror movie sequels, regardless of how the original goes down with critics, because they generally cost less and are easier to market. If you make a creepy trailer or have a fundamentally creepy concept, horror fans will generally respond.
That can be the only reason why The Boy grossed a comparatively massive $64m from its $10m budget, because it was a fairly mediocre movie at best and a painfully silly one at worst. But Brahams the doll is returning for a sequel alongside director William Brent Bel and writer Stacey Menear and he's going to have a new young family to terrorise.
it's released as soon as the end of July and it'll have some way to go to justify its existence beyond being an easy money-spinner.
