10 Movie Spinoffs You Didn't Know Were Coming

Considering the sense of finality that A Quiet Place Part II's climactic scene brought to viewers, one could be forgiven for being unaware that a third installment is in development, let alone a spinoff.

While director John Krasinski will not be returning to the director's chair for said spinoff, the news that Paramount is currently crafting a prequel set in A Quiet Place's acclaimed universe will have fans rubbing their hands together with glee.

The film, titled A Quiet Place: Day One, will likely follow a new group of survivors from the very outset of the alien invasion that killed most of the world's population. While Part II's introductory sequence briefly explored this time period, the idea of an in-depth look at events from the very beginning is absolutely thrilling.

No details surrounding the film's cast have been released, but Michael Sarnoski - who received rave reviews for his directorial debut Pig - has been entrusted to helm the project. The first two films' atmosphere of visceral suspense won't be going anywhere either, as Krasinski will also return in a producer capacity.

Fans can look forward to a double whammy: a brand-new, thrilling origin story in 2024, followed by the latest chapter in the Abbott family's epic saga a year later.
