3. Mystique Dies - Dark Phoenix

Late last year rumours started swirling about the plot for the upcoming X-Men sequel Dark Phoenix, with the major revelation being that Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) would be killed at the hands of Jean Grey (Sophie Turner).

The "leak" claimed that Mystique would die when Jean was unable to control the Phoenix Force, leading to Raven being fatally impaled. Though it was reasonable enough to take this with a grain of salt at first, Dark Phoenix was then test-screened earlier this year, and back in May an enterprising attendee posted a full plot dump online.

The screening report backs up that initial leak, confirming Mystique's accidental death at the hands of Jean. Considering Lawrence's clear disinterest in the franchise these days, it's not exactly a massive surprise to hear that Mystique kicks the bucket, but the confirmation is nice regardless.
