10 Movie Storylines Actors REFUSED To Do

6. Ralph Fiennes Doesn't Want M To Be The Villain - Spectre

The mesmerising Ralph Fiennes knows a thing or two about playing a detestable villain on the big screen.

However, the actor who spent years frightening the life out of audiences as Lord Voldemort actually had zero interest in turning evil within another iconic franchise.

As the star himself would explain on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, after happily agreeing to join the James Bond universe as the new M in Skyfall, Fiennes found himself having to fight off Sam Mendes' attempts to turn him to the dark side.

This was said to have gone down during the making of Spectre, with the actor telling his director clearly that he did not want to play an evil M in that film because "M is never the bad guy."

The discussion over that particular plotline got a little "intense", too, by the sounds of it.

Sure enough, the star got his way in the end, and instead of M being revealed as "Blofeld or something", another agent ended up turning on our heroes in Spectre.
