10 Movie Supervillains Ruined By Botched CGI

3. The Abomination (The Incredible Hulk)

The Incredible Hulk is the closest thing Marvel Studios has to a box office bomb, but the fact the Louis Leterrier movie pulled in $263.4 million on a budget of $150 million proves that success and failure is often relative in Hollywood.

That said, the Green Goliath's second big-screen outing is the easiest MCU movie to poke holes in, and that's partly down to botched CGI. Effects-wise, it's an upgrade on Ang Lee's Hulk - which is hardly surprising since it came out five years later - though there are still times when shoddy digital imagery pulls you out of the film.

The most egregious CG rears its ugly head when Tim Roth's Emil Blonsky begins his transformation into the Abomination. During the early stages of the metamorphosis, his new 'Super Soldier' muscles look like a bad Photoshop job.

Further down the line, when he becomes a Hulk-busting monster, things take a sharp nosedive. The Abomination is a bony mess of ropey, slime-coloured digital effects that didn't even hold up in 2008, let alone 10 years later. In short, he lives up to his name.
