German Title: Die Unglaubliche Reise In Einem Verrückten Flugzeug

English Translation: The Unbelievable Trip In A Crazy Airplane!

The incredible Journey in a crazy Airplane, as the German title translates to, drags disaster films from the 1970s such as Airport (1970), Earthquake(1974), Airport 1975, Jaws (1975), The Concorde ... Airport '79 etc, through the mud for their ridiculous trope that seems to constantly involve (imminent) plane crashes.

This absurd comedy masterpiece shows an ex-Vietnam pilot who must take control of an aircraft since the entire crew is paralyzed due to food poisoning. Naturally, as one would expect from a ZAZ production, hilarity soon ensues in rapid succession, racing from one insane moment to another!

Somehow, most German people did not experience the large number of disaster films that dominated the 1970s cinema. Consequently, the no holds bare nature at which most foreign film titles are translated inevitably fostered this long winded title mishap.

What's more, The Unbelievable Trip In A Crazy Airplane sounds like a title that would be fitting for an audience that is deprived from the powers of the internet thus incapable of performing a simple IMDB search on the context of US disaster movie titles.
