10 Movie Trailers Released BEFORE FX Was Added

One of the trailers for Deadpool 2 decided to make fun of the fact that most movie trailers are assembled from work-in-progress footage, by featuring actual unfinished, in-production material from the film itself.

In a Cable-centric (Josh Brolin) trailer released a few months prior to the movie, a number of shots showed the time-traveling cybernetic soldier without his signature metal arm.

Instead, actor Brolin could be seen wearing the green sleeve he actually wore during shooting, which was of course replaced with the final metal arm effect in post-production.

Hilariously, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) himself even pauses the trailer to pass comment on the gaffe and poke some not-so-subtle fun at the Henry Cavill mustache debacle in the 2017 version of Justice League, saying, "Why are the visual effects not done? It's a metal arm. It's not like we're trying to remove a mustache."

Once again, the Deadpool movies proved their marketing game to be leagues ahead of basically everybody else.
