10 Movie Trailers Released BEFORE FX Was Added

3. Zack Snyder's Justice League

The world is still reeling from the fact that Zack Snyder's Justice League was surprisingly pretty good, and a sure improvement over the 2017 "Whedon Cut."

But there's also little denying that the so-called Snyder Cut suffered somewhat from its hasty production schedule, given that Snyder and his team had just six months to complete 2,650 new VFX shots.

As a result, even the most basic CGI shots were being constantly iterated upon until close to release, and when a two-minute trailer for the Snyder Cut dropped just a month before the four-hour epic came out, many noted that numerous effects shots seemed lackluster or even unfinished.

But the shot that perhaps caught the most flak was one of the simplest - while Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) is talking to Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aboard the Flying Fox, a green screen is visible in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

The final trailer released the very week the movie hit HBO Max presented a fixed version of the shot, and it's probably safe to assume that Snyder had his VFX teams working hard on the more challenging shots first, leaving such an easy green screen composite until the final few weeks of production.
