10 Movie Trilogies That Are Absolutely Perfect

8. Kung Fu Panda

War For The Planet of the Apes
Dreamworks

Jack Black as an animated panda who becomes the most powerful kung fu warrior in the world. Enough said.

Sporting lush animation, an impeccable voice cast (Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, Jackie Chan) and enough action sequences to put John McClane to shame, the Kung Fu Panda trilogy is one of the most surprisingly heartfelt and bombastically crazy animated IPs on offer.

The trilogy follows clumsy panda Po (Black) as he accepts his destiny as the Dragon Warrior, fights off increasingly personal and dangerous foes, and learns who he is and where he really came from in the process.

The films grow in scale and innovation as they go on, but each are as good as each other, crafting a beautifully drawn world and numerous touching character developments along the way.

It's a cliché to suggest an animated, kid-friendly action-comedy is fun for the whole family, but between its touching themes of family and identity, its goofy humour and wickedly fun fight scenes, the Kung Fu Panda series really is a guaranteed ball for young and old alike.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Be excellent to each other.
