10 Movie Trilogies That Are Absolutely Perfect

7. The Dollars Trilogy

The interesting thing about Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy is that he didn't make it with the intention of creating a trilogy. It was only after the final film - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly - was released that the three movies began to be advertised as a series, each following Clint Eastwood's Man with No Name.

All that aside, though, the films are majestic, following the Man with No Name as he robs, steals, kills and double-crosses his way through a world of lawlessness and bandits. Eastwood himself has never looked so powerful or iconic, and frequent co-stars Lee Van Cleef and Mario Brega (amongst others) are indispensably awesome.

On top of the slow, methodical pace that allows the characters and the setting to do the talking, there's also the action, the ingenious plot twists and the sheer awe-inspiring scope of it all. These are films about flawed, lawless men, but also about the world they inhabit as it changes around them.

What more could anyone possibly want?
