Any film that takes its title from the slang word for methamphetamine is guaranteed to be full of energy, and as far as action movies go few are quite so relentless as Crank. Jason Statham takes his action hero persona to the next level, fighting, running and shouting through each scene as he attempts to counteract the poison that threatens to kill him if his adrenaline levels drop below a certain level. Watched back to back with the sequel, Crank 2: High Voltage, and the experience is as draining as it is exhiliarating - co-writers/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are up there with The Raid's Gareth Evans when it comes to sustaining ridiculously over-the-top action. When can we expect the final instalment? It's on the way at some point, but nothing is set in stone. Statham revealed his willingness for a third Crank movie earlier this year, saying, "Id love to do it! have to get their heads together, and if they want to do it, then theres a conversation. I had a great time playing that part Id be silly to say no."
