10 Movie Trilogy Conclusions Fans Are Still Desperate To See

8. Bill & Ted

In the twenty-plus years since the release of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure in 1989, Alex Winters (Bill) has all but disappeared from the big screen, while Ted (Keanu Reeves) found megastardom with The Matrix before establishing a safe career as a go-to action hero. The time traveling adventures of these slackers have a warm amiability to them, boosted by wonderful cameos from the likes of legendary stand-up comedian George Carlin and, in the sequel Bogus Journey, William Sadler as Death. They've achieved cult status in the years since, while the scene in which they play games with Death to retain their souls has become as iconic as the scene from Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal which it parodies. When can we expect the final instalment? Rumours of a third adventure for Bill and Ted have been circulating for some time, but it's only recently that we've heard something solid about the project. Winters confirmed a script everyone is happy with has been drafted (although may be tweaked further to allow for the return of Sadler's Death, another good sign), and Keanu has also signed up. Winters said earlier this year, €œWe€™re not tired of it, but I think for our fans, we are eager to stop talking about and actually shoot the damn thing.€
