10 Movie Villain Twists Everyone Hated

Few animated movies have captured the imagination of the public, both old and young more than Frozen.

The songs are infectious and the staple of school-runs the world over, while the two female lead characters, Anna and Elsa have inspired many a Halloween or fancy dress costume, not to mention offering strong role models for young girls.

Frozen is pretty much great, we can all agree... well, except for one thing. Hans being the villain.

Pixar have a very bad habit of relying on twist villains, from Stinky Pete to now the supposed romantic lead for Anna. That he really is a cad whose only desire is to rule Arendelle, that he is prepared to let both Anna and Elsa die to achieve this is the stuff of nightmares for young children.

There is little in the way of true set up and it seems more a twist for twists sake, following the Pixar model rather than being important to the story. Of course it allows Anna the chance to get back with a satisfying right hook but the message to young girls, that men are untrustworthy is a little much for a film aimed at children.

Another thing many fans hated was the seeming lack of real consequences for Hans' betrayal. Indeed in a sequel he is seen cleaning stables, despite being prepared to murder women to get his way.
