When Arnold turned good guy in Terminator 2, a gap opened in the franchise for a new villain for Sarah and John Connor to face off against. Enter Robert Patrick's T-1000, stepping up the Terminator game in a way that the series has struggled to live up to ever since.

Indeed, everything which followed the iconic T-1000 has attempted to imitate the murderous machine, with mixed results, from Rise of the Machines' T-X (an icy Kristanna Loken) to Dark Fate's Gabriel Luna. None have managed to fill the T-1000's sleek cop boots though, and it's difficult to imagine anyone, or anything ever succeeding in such a feat. In the ever-changing lists of All Time Greatest Movie Baddies, it's the T-1000 who will always be back.
