His Plan: Fearful of a prophecy which stated that he would die at the hands of a one-legged man (Captain Barbossa), the ferocious pirate sought out the Fountain of Youth in order to avoid his grim fate by any means necessary.

What Happened?: Despite his best efforts, Blackbeard's pre-destined fate ultimately transpired as expected, being stabbed by Barbossa's poisoned blade. Though he made one final attempt to save his own life by sacrificing his daughter Angelica, Jack accidentally botched the ritual, causing Blackbeard to end up sacrificed instead, eroded into a pile of bones while his daughter was healed by the Fountain's curative powers.

His will to live, even over his own daughter, is impressive, but it also made his death even easier to root for. Good riddance.
