10 Movie Villains Who Were Fatally Miscast

7. Chloe Grace Moretz - Carrie

2013's Carrie remake was met with a cautious level of anticipation, since it boasted a dynamite leading duo of Chloe Grace Moretz as Carrie and Julianne Moore as Carrie's insane mother. Still, while Julianne Moore is great in it and the movie was actually perfectly decent as horror remakes go, Moretz was less successful.

Moretz was still probably the best young actor in Hollywood at the time and at first glance she seemed like a great choice, but once the film arrived it was clear she was tragically miscast as Carrie. She's just too confident and charismatic an actress and fails to convince as a despised social outcast.

She does better in the later scenes, where she gets to explore the darker side of the character, but at that point it all feels a little too late.

In hindsight, the better thing to do would've been to cast an unknown actress who wasn't associated with so many Hollywood roles.
