10 Movie Villains Who Were Fatally Miscast

4. Jesse Eissenberg - Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice

When Jesse Eissenberg was cast as Lex Luthor, fans were not happy at all and the backlash reminds one of Batfleck or of the backlash regarding Heath Ledger being cast as the Joker. Ironically enough, both of those latter performances turned out really well while here, the naysayers were spot on.

Lex Luthor should be a sinister, imposing figure, not a silly, over-the-top mad scientist character, which is what Eissenberg played him as. Eissenberg might've been OK if he was playing the Riddler or another more ligh-hearted villain, but as Lex Luthor? Just no.

Eissenberg's giggly, immature and unbearably irritating performance was by far the worst of his career and the Razzie he won was well-deserved. He hasn't improved judging by his brief appearance in the post-credits scene of Justice League, indicating it's probably time to recast the character.
