1. Doctor Octopus - Spider Man 2

A ridiculous villain in many aspects, particularly the name "Doctor Octopus". Spider-Man 2 however changed my opinion, as I saw a scientist that tried to reach his admirable dream, and instead fell rock bottom. We find Dr. Otto Octavius trying to achieve an new source of energy to sustain the world's needs, which was meant to be a cheap and clean resource. As Otto and Peter discuss this in their first meeting, we can see Otto serving as role model to Peter, which makes the next part all the more devastating as Otto's demonstration goes completely south. He becomes completely delusional whilst the experiment slowly degrades, oblivious to the fatal danger his wife was in till it was too late. After his failed experiment Otto has lost everything, leaving him broken and hopeless. Which leaves him open to the self indulgent suggestions of his robotic A.I arms, convincing him to continue his work by any means necessary. Otto's ambition makes him very relate able, only to work so hard achieve something, and have it slip through your fingers. So there you have it, our definitive list of not really bad villains.
