3. Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning
It's not just violence, graphic gory scenes, or psychological thrillers that can take an audience to the extreme of what they can stand.
You have to suspend your disbelief while watching a movie, to truly lose yourself in it. In doing so, even though you know for a fact that Tom Cruise is fine, your heart can't help but skip a beat or two at some of the insane stunts he has pulled in the past. The Mission: Impossible franchise in particular is capable of bringing out such a reaction, and it would seem that 2025's The Final Reckoning will be no different.
With this likely being Tom Cruise's last dance as Ethan Hunt, he looks to be going out with a flourish. By all accounts, his stunts for the eighth Mission: Impossible movie go above and beyond anything that has come before, which was too much for one audience member at a small early screening.
According to director Christopher McQuarrie, one viewer confessed that they were struggling to breathe the entire time, and almost had a heart attack. Tongue-in-cheek possibly, but the director took it that the film had done something right.
